Marissa and Ryan are getting married in New Mexico in 2019. We headed up to the Sandia Mountains engagement session! There was still snow on the ground. It’s rare that you get engagement pictures in New Mexico in the snow so we endured the cold and the results were spectacular! I love photographing engaged couples. The chemistry is usually already there and it’s fun bottling that lightening in photographs. Cedar crest is beautiful all year round so you can’t really go wrong any time of year. I would suggest warm clothes in the fall and winter even if you don’t wear them for your pictures. My couples usually bundle up then strip down to regular clothes for a few minutes at a time. One nice thing about doing your engagement pictures at the top of the Sandia Mountains in the cold is you get close real quick!
The pine trees, snow, mountain views, and sunset made for a magical time. Even if we weren’t shooting an engagement session in the Sandias, it was worth the experience. I’m was so excited to share their pictures with them. New Mexico remains one of the best places to take engagement or wedding pictures. You just have to know where to look! One of my favorite places to do engagement sessions is in the Sandia Mountains! It also gives my couples time to get comfortable in front of the camera before I photograph their wedding.
