Mandie has all of the blog experience and I have none but she was up several times last night comforting our teething baby girl so here I am. This is our first entry! Mandie and I have talked about starting our own photography business for years and I can hardly believe we’re actually doing this! We love photography and our hope is to share that love with you. Photography has become an everyday part of our lives and now that we have a baby girl we have to recharge our camera batteries almost daily! We’ve spent the better part of the last eight years developing our photographic abilities. I could go on and on about photography and we will post more about it but there’s another side to GRP.

We are a family. We are Mandie, Amalia, and Gabriel. Mandie and I got hitched on May 19th, 2006. On December 2nd, 2013, our beautiful baby girl, Amalia Mabel Segura was born at 6 pounds, 14 ounces. And she’s awake. I can hear her in the bedroom. saying “Mmmba, mmmm, umba.” She makes me smile so much my face starts to hurt!  Mandie was born in Indiana and grew up in Michigan with two sisters and a brother, all of them younger. Mali and I were born here in Albuquerque. I’ve got one younger brother. We’ll see about siblings for Mali.

Mandie works from home so she can take care of our baby girl and I’m an RN who works at a rehab hospital (rehab as in people coming back from injuries and surgeries, not drug rehab). I work mostly with TBI (traumatic brain injury). Let’s see, what else can I tell you. Oh, Amalia goes by “Mali.” We pronounce it “Molly.” She’s named after my Grandmother (my Dad’s Mom). Mandie loves to sew, photograph, and her current favorite tv show is Blue Bloods. I bounce back and forth between science and art, love them both, and my current favorite thing to watch is a web series called ComediansinCarsgettingCoffee with Jerry Seinfeld.

So, what can you expect to see from our goatblog? Anything and everything! We’re going to post family stuff because we are family, photography stuff for obvious reasons, some local stuff (things to see, places to go), maybe even some health stuff. So buckle in. Let’s light this candle!

Ok, the background is made up of the walls at Tinker Town Museum. If you click on the words "Tinker Town" under the picture, you can go look at their website. They're nestled in the Sandia Mountains. It's a great place for a day trip if you're in the area. Mali loved it! :-)
